Context
As part of the construction of a high-end single-family home built by Solico, Cuisi-n-art was mandated to design and supply all the built-in furniture.
The project included a spacious 9-room property, the equivalent of 97 cabinets, including a complete kitchen with two islands, the bathrooms and the laundry room. The scale of the project called for rigorous execution and particular attention to detail in order to meet the high standards expected.
Challenges Encountered
During the first inspection, carried out together with our door representative, a significant issue was identified: more than 42 doors showed a similar defect.
Despite several attempts at adjustment and validation, it quickly became clear that the situation was recurring and related to the product itself. The main challenge was therefore to correct the situation without compromising the project schedule or the client’s satisfaction, while maintaining the level of quality initially promised.
The Solution Provided by Cuisi-n-art
A strategic meeting bringing together the president of Cuisi-n-art, Solico’s foreman and the client made it possible to decide on a lasting solution.
Rather than multiplying temporary fixes, we recommended replacing all the doors with a more stable product, eliminating the risk of the whitening problem reappearing.
To support an informed decision, we also installed a complete demonstration wall with the proposed new doors. This hands-on approach allowed the client to visualize the final result before confirming her choice.
Result
The selected product, L592 melamine replacing V592 PVC, made it possible to keep the original look while improving durability.
To respect the original visual intent, including the rounded-corner effect, a thicker edge band was applied. This technical detail produced a harmonious final result, comparable to, or even better than, the original product.
The final result turned out even more attractive than expected, exceeding the client’s expectations.
