Context
The Carrefour Cité project, carried out in Gatineau in 2023 with BBL Construction, marked an important milestone: it was their first residential tower.
With 205 units spread over 19 storeys, this project was not only a technical challenge, but also a strategic change of scale for everyone involved. Cuisi-n-art was called upon to contribute to this transition by handling the design and delivery of the built-in furniture for the entire building.
Navigating a Complex Decision-Making Structure
What made this project unique was not only its scale, but the number of stakeholders involved.
With several decision-makers around the table, communication required constant attention to ensure a shared understanding of the project’s objectives, constraints and direction.
Ongoing exchanges, by email, phone and in meetings, including visits to various suppliers, were essential to align all stakeholders.
An Agile, Structured Approach
Faced with this complexity, Cuisi-n-art relied on a proactive approach, focused on clarification and overall coordination.
Every interaction became an opportunity to strengthen the project’s vision, anticipate the necessary adjustments and ensure consistency between the decisions made and their impact on the final result.
This active presence turned a potentially fragmented dynamic into a smooth, controlled process.
A Project That Gains in Value
As it evolved, the project took a more high-end direction, driven by the choices and investments of the client and the contractor.
This upgrade in quality translated into greater attention to materials, finishes and the overall experience of the units, placing the project in a higher category.
Cuisi-n-art: The Art of Balancing Vision and Reality
This project highlights a key strength of Cuisi-n-art: the ability to balance a project’s ambitions with its budget realities.
We stood out through:
- careful management of multiple expectations
- the ability to adapt the offering to each unit type
- a thoughtful balance between high-end and standard
- an overall understanding that ensures the project’s consistency
By integrating higher-end components for the penthouses while optimizing the standard units, we helped maximize the project’s value without compromising its financial balance.
